Men's Book Study
Every Tuesday, 8am - 9am
Men's Book Study
Leader: Jim Fielder |
Tuesday mornings from 8:00-9:00 AM in the Church Library
Jim Fielder,
Currently reading and discussing The Case for Faith by Lee Strobel
Why does God permit evil? Why do some prayers go unanswered? Why has God allowed the church to engage in brutality and hypocrisy? Tough questions demand convincing answers. Join journalist Strobel as he once again journeys across the country challenging philosophers, theologians, and ordinary believers to defend their faith. The evidence he uncovers may surprise you!
In The Case for Faith, bestselling author, journalist, and former atheist Lee Strobel turns his investigative skills to the most persistent emotional objections to belief in God--the eight "heart barriers" to faith:
- "Since evil and suffering exist, a loving God cannot"
- "Since miracles contradict science, they cannot be true"
- "Evolution explains life, so God isn't needed"
- "God isn't worthy of worship if he kills innocent children"
- "It's offensive to claim Jesus is the only way to God"
- "A loving God would never torture people in Hell"
- "Church history is littered with oppression and violence"
- "I still have doubts, so I can't be a Christian"
This book is for those who may be feeling attracted to Jesus but who are faced with difficult questions standing squarely in their path. For Christians, it will deepen their convictions and give them fresh confidence in defending their faith to skeptical friends, or during the hardest of times, when they have to defend their faith to themselves in moments of doubt.
Books may be purchased from your vendor of choice.

Family VBS
JUNE 6-9, 2022 | 6:00-8:00 PM
Family VBS
Leader: Doug Dunnavant |
At First Baptist, we support family ministry by strategically coaching and supporting families as together we share the gospel, grow in biblical training, and strengthen discipleship from the inside out.
We want to enable parents to literally come alongside their children with the truth of God, His Word, the sacrifice of His Son Jesus, and to support a lifelong effort to grow in the knowledge and understanding of the Lord together as a family.
This summer, we will learn together that God’s creativity didn’t stop in Genesis. The Master Artist is working to redeem, reclaim, and transform us--His creation--to the design He planned for us. We will see the beautiful truth that we are God’s workmanship and will continue to learn to use our talents to bring glory to Him.
Our prayer is that parents will feel fully equipped and supported during this time to help their children see and hear God’s greatness and begin to plant a desire to know Him, love His Word, and live daily for Him.

Families will gather at 6:00 PM in the Sanctuary for opening pledges, songs, verses, and video. Your family will move together through four rotations:
- Bible Study
- Craft Time
- Games
- Music & Snack
We invite you and your family to join us and other families as together we grab ahold of God’s Word and learn to live daily by the truth, working toward the goal of shining the light of Jesus to those we encounter in the world.

- Bible Study
- Craft Time
- Games
- Music & Snack
We invite you and your family to join us and other families as together we grab ahold of God’s Word and learn to live daily by the truth, working toward the goal of shining the light of Jesus to those we encounter in the world.

- Bible Study
- Craft Time

We invite you and your family to join us and other families as together we grab ahold of God’s Word and learn to live daily by the truth, working toward the goal of shining the light of Jesus to those we encounter in the world.

- Bible Study
- Craft Time
- Games

We invite you and your family to join us and other families as together we grab ahold of God’s Word and learn to live daily by the truth, working toward the goal of shining the light of Jesus to those we encounter in the world.

Family VBS 2022
Monday, June 6th - Thursday, June 9th
6:00-8:00 PM (Optional free dinner in the Gym from 5:00-5:40)
Ages 2yrs-6th grade
Nursery is available for babies through two years of age for those families attending with the other siblings. Parents are also welcome to have their babies stay with their families throughout the evening if desired. Students grades 7th-12th are encouraged to volunteer as support Leaders
What will a night at Family VBS look like?
From the time your family checks in, the parents or guardians will participate with their children through the evening as together we all grow to understand that we are Created, Designed, and Empowered!
For those who have children that are already grown and out of the home, we ask that you consider coming alongside these families and supporting them by choosing to Volunteer to be a Leader during Family VBS.
If you have any questions, please contact Family Pastor Doug Dunnavant at .

Choir Rehearsal
Every Wednesday, 7pm - 8:30pm
Choir Rehearsal
Leader: James Passman |
The Sanctuary Choir rehearses every Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary and teams up with the praise band to lead worship on Sunday mornings. Rehearsal is more than notes and rhythms. It's an opportunity to worship and draw near to God together! Under the direction of Worship Pastor, James Passman, the choir prepares a wide variety of music to include hymn arrangements, choral classics, and adaptations of modern worship choruses. The Sanctuary Choir is a non-auditioned group open to all who want to come and sing. A love for the Lord and a love for music are the only two requirements.
