Worship Team

Worship services at First Baptist are planned to be authentic in content and expression, driven by truth revealed through scripture, and focused on bringing people into an intimate encounter with the Living God. Style and form may move with the times, but true corporate worship will always be anchored in and driven by Spirit and Truth.

Music at First Baptist is congregational, led by a combination of choir, vocal team, praise band, rhythm section, and orchestra, covering a blend of beloved hymns and contemporary worship songs. The face of worship may vary any given week as multiple generations pour out praise to God and proclaim truth to one another. Our God is worshipped across the globe in languages and styles we may never understand. He is not confined. The same God who masterfully crafts each unique individual also delights to be diversely and creatively worshiped.
There’s a unique, God-inspired and -created place for you in worship with First Baptist New Braunfels. Come, discover, grow, and touch eternity as we worship Him together.

If you have any questions or are interested in serving in any of the following capacities, please contact Pastor James at .

    Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir rehearses every Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary and teams up with the praise band to lead worship on Sunday mornings. Rehearsal is more than notes and rhythms. It's an opportunity to worship and draw near to God together! Under the direction of Worship Pastor, James Passman, the choir prepares a wide variety of music to include hymn arrangements, choral classics, and adaptations of modern worship choruses. The Sanctuary Choir is a non-auditioned group open to all who want to come and sing. A love for the Lord and a love for music are the only two requirements.

    Platform Singers

Platform singers are interviewed and auditioned choir members. This role requires additional leadership and commitment.

    Instrumentalists

Whether through drums, percussion, guitars, brass, winds, or strings, instrumental ministry is a substantial way to live out Psalm 150. If you feel called to serve through music, we would love to get acquainted! We’re always looking for opportunities to incorporate a variety of instruments for the glory of God.
