Get God's Word Stuck in Your Head (and Heart)
November 15, 2021 | Jared Walley
Do you ever get a song stuck in your head? I do. Most of the time, it's a nice song that I've heard recently that I don't mind it playing on repeat. Sometimes it's a song I can't get out of my head fast enough. But lately I've had a scripture song rattling around in my head. It comes from Proverbs 3:5-6:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
Do you remember that song? One of the benefits of having the Word of God stuck inside your head is that you get to meditate and reflect on it a lot. Here are a few of the random thoughts I've had over the last few days:
- Is there such a thing as half-hearted trust?
- Why is it so easy to lean on my understanding?
- AM I really acknowledging Him? In all my ways?
- Man, I could sure use a straight path today.
To follow God's Word, to be transformed by God's Word, you must know God's Word. So let me encourage you to hide God's Word in your heart (or head).
