Women of FIRST

Every woman yearns for friends who will walk with her through life's joys and sorrows. Women of FIRST is designed for women of all ages to know that they are uniquely gifted by God. It is our desire for women to find a place to study the Word of God and equip them to use the gifts that God has given them.

For more information about Women of FIRST, please contact Coordinator Holly McLean, or call the church office at 830-625-9124.

Does the turmoil in our times, the uprisings and the spiritual decay of many have anything to do with the Book of Daniel? Daniel was a man who knew what God said about the end times. He focused on what God said, not the events of his own time. He had an impact on the people that God placed in his life.
How do you live as a Daniel in the crucial days in which you find yourself? How can you dare to be different? How do you get to know God Most High? The Book of Daniel has the answers.
Precept Upon Precept is a Precept Inductive Bible Study which features the Precept Inductive Bible Study Method. Discover Truth for Yourself. More at precept.org.

Grief Class (Men and Ladies)
We all experience loss, and it can be overwhelming. After a loved-one's death, a divorce, an injury or disease, or another major life change, recovery often seems daunting, if not impossible. Please join Kevin Ponthieux in navigating together the difficult terrain of grief and recovery.

Please sign up at the Welcome Center in the foyer.

Dress a Girl Around the World Workshop

Saturday, January 27
9:30am - 1:00pm
AMC 120
Have you ever wanted to learn how to make a pillowcase-type dress for the Dress A Girl Around the World ministry? This is your chance! Join Carolyn Daves as she walks you through the steps. For this workshop, we will need portable sewing machines, irons and ironing boards, sharp scissors or rotary cutters, and many hands to put the dresses together. We'll also be sewing the Dress A Girl logo labels on dresses that have been made beforehead. The ministry has found that girls wearing these labeled dresses tend to be left alone by predators since they appear to be well-cared for and under the watchful protection of whoever the label represents. For more information about the workshop, or to offer your supplies, please contact Carolyn Daves at 210-286-5850 or rcdaves@gvtc.com.

Throughout the year...
The Women of FIRST invite you to make pillowcase-type dresses for orphans for the Dress a Girl Around the World ministry. We schedule sewing days periodically throughout the year. If you would like to sew your own dresses at home, you can download the instructions below. We will be sending all of our dresses twice a year to headquarters for shipment around the world. If you have dresses you would like to include in the shipment, we would be happy to collect them in our church office. We can add the Dress a Girl labels to your dresses for you. For more information, please contact Holly McLean at
hollybradmc@gmail.com.
