Below are some of the prominent mission opportunities and ministries at FBCNB. This is not an exhaustive list, so if God has put something on your heart to seek or to start, please contact us at FirstBaptist@fbcnb.org or 830-625-9124.
I LOVE NB
Jesus says that the world will know us by our love (John 13:35). Our hearbeat should be for others. FBCNB should be known for our love. To help communicate this drive, we are excited to dub our local missions ministry "I Love NB." We "Love NB" because God first loved us, and we are excited to lead people to Jesus. What better way to lead people to Jesus than by serving them with love? We desire to be "salt and light" to our neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family. We "Love NB" by providing school supplies, praying for First Responders, delivering Thanksgiving baskets, and witnessing to our neighbors. Please join us as we commit to "Love NB."
THIRD SUNDAY OUTREACHES
The Third Sunday Outreach March 19 will be a "Chili, Calls, and Cards" night, consisting of a chili cook-off and contacting people we haven't seen at church in a while, including prospects and visitors. To vote for your favorite chili, you will be allowed one vote per each contact you make. Small groups, please have at least two representatives attend the outreach night to contact members of your group and invite prospects and visitors to visit your group.
Please contact Pastor Jared to enter the competition. Competitors will be judged not only for the quality of their chili, but also on presentation, showmanship, style, etc. Please cook the chili off-site (at least one crockpot full), and bring it to the church by 5:00pm. According to Texas Chili Cook-Off rules, no fillers are allowed. Beans, macaroni, rice, hominy, and other similiar ingredients are not permitted. You can make either red or green chili, and awards will be presented to the winners.
Don't miss this great time of fellowship and outreach as we come together each third Sunday to "Love NB!"
April 30 (Fifth Sunday because Easter falls on Third Sunday)
We will meet at the church to have a time of follow-up with the visitors of the Easter service. Some teams can make home visits, some can stay and pray for those going out, and others can write cards to them. Childcare will be provided for those who want to help with visitation.
Carl Schurtz Outreach- An end of the school year party is being planned. Stay tuned for more details to come.
Family Promise helps homeless families regain independence by providing transportation, job training, life skills classes, a day center, and more while they work to get back on their feet. FBCNB and other local churches take turns hosting the families for one week four times a year, providing meals, fellowship, and a place to sleep.
